Firebug – Web Development extension for Firefox
Firebug is a web development extension for the Firefox browser that aids in formatting, debugging and tweaking your code for optimal load time and display. Developers using FireFox for testing and/or general browsing (which should be all of you), will find this extension useful for nearly every aspect of web development, especially for those pesky CSS formatting issues.
The fun doesn’t stop there however, because CSS debugging is just the tip of the iceberg…
Firebug allows you to:
- Edit HTML
- Tweak CSS
- Test load time
- Debug JavaScript
- Quickly find syntax errors
- Explore DOM objects
From the Firebug website:
“Firebug integrates with FireFox to put a wealth of web development tools at your fingertips while you browse. You can edit, debug, and monitor CSS, HTML, and JavaScript live in any web page.”

Regardless of your skill level, Firebug is a great development tool to have at your disposal and I think you’ll soon find it an invaluable time saver.
